Battleship

Game rules

Battleship is a game that is played over two rectangular screens sized 10 x 10. The blue-colored screen, representing the sea, is assigned to place the own vessels. The green-colored screen, representing a radar, is the panel used both for shooting and for observing the course of the game.

The aim of the game is to sink all the opponent’s chips. To do that, each player per turn makes a shot clicking on the radar. If the player manages to reach an enemy’s ship, he/she has the turn again.

Distributing the vessels

To start the game, it is necessary to place the 9 ships on the blue board. Each player has a battleship (4 squares), three submarines (3 squares each), three destroyers (2 squares) and two patrol boats (1 square).

The player can place his/her vessels clicking with the left button of the mouse on the blue screen where a green or a red mark will appear. If the mark is green, it is possible to place the ship on that position. On the other hand, if it is red, it indicates it is not possible to place it there, so it is necessary to choose another position.

To change the direction of the ship, click on the arrows located out of the board for that purpose.

An automatic and quick way to distribute the vessels is by clicking on the button random.

Starting the game

Once the 9 ships are distributed, we can see the notice: Waiting for confirmation of the other players if the opponent did not finish placing his/her vessels yet.

Once the game starts and on the player’s turn, he/she can click on the green screen (radar) to shoot. The answer will be the lighting of the rectangle in blue (water), brown (vessel hit) or red (vessel sunk).

When passing the turn, the player can see the effect of the shots of his/her opponent over his/her own ships.

The game ends when all the ships of one of the players are sunk.

Ranking for points

To take part in the leaderboard of this game, it is necessary to be registered and have chips enough to meet the bets.

To score points, the games have to be competitive (indicated by a boxing glove or swords). There is no scoring if 2 players at the table share the same IP.

  • The player that wins the game scores 20 points.
  • The players that lose a game lose 10 points.
  • The players that leave a game will be penalized with 20 points.
